Dh is a long distance lorry driver, I went to Italy with him once and had a wonderful time. Since then I haven't been able to due to work etc. Now, ds is 9m old, I'm not going back to work, ds has a passport for our holiday in Sept, but in the meantime...I'm thinking of going with dh to the north west coast of Spain. It will be a 3 day drive there and the same back (though it may not occir for another 6 wks or so). Ds is on 3 meals a day, a good eater, mostly what we have, and is breastfed. He's a good sleeper, esp when travelling. As he's my first we haven't been very far so this thought is a tad over enthusiastic, but I'd like to make the most of it.

Has anyone considered this? Mums at the Mum's group who have more than one have just said go for it, with their experience it's totally feasable..I may just be a bit cautious so I'm looking for someone who has travelled a lot to give me some experiences and things to consider. TIA, looking forward to this one!

3 days is a long time! i did a 6 hr drive with ds at about the same age and it drove me mad! that said, i guess if you have frequent stops it shouldn't be that bad.

the worst thing was just that ds was so bored when he wasn't sleeping and just grizzled because he couldn't get out of his chair and play

Dh will be driving, whereas I'll be free. You have mentioned the point I am trying to visualise...will he get bored? Even if I'm there to occupy and play with him?

Also, it could be quite a lot of night time driving so on those days I think it will be good, we'll go for wl=alks while dh sleeps. I think!

yeah if he'll sleep well and you drive at night it might be easier.

you're braver than me though! lol
