Or do you know any thing about "dialaflight.com"?
Have you ever used this company at all?
Its just that we are booking to go next April and are completely lost with all of the companies and the HUGE differences in prices.

flying from Manchester, although it seems that flying from a London airport is cheeper by £2~300.
The cheeper flights, are the companies trustworthy or should we be cautious parting with cheques etc? Instinct tells us that they are too good to be true but we just have got no clue.

I've only ever flown Virgin and BA.

bubblerock · 07/05/2006 11:22

What are you looking for Donbean? What date? How many adults/children and what's the cheapest quote you've had so far? Do they have to be direct flights?

bubblerock · 07/05/2006 11:59

?

Donbean · 07/05/2006 19:54

HI Bubblerock!Smile
We want to go 29th March ~15th April 2007.
We have had quotes for flights from £1000each to £350ish each.
4 adults and one child who will be 3 at time of travel.
We have accomodation sorted, its flight and car hire we need help on.
OOOH i forgot that you love this sort of thing, i should have thought and asked you outright.
Ive lost your email address, could you perhaps cat me? Smile

we went with north west (part of klm i think) and the food was yummy and flight v. cheap.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 07/05/2006 20:23

Are you looking to fly into Orlando?. I ask this as the only UK carriers who operate direct flights there are Virgin and BA.

Have heard of dialafight (have seen them advertised in the national press) but have never used them.

mumofelise · 07/05/2006 20:26

travelcitydirect have fly drive flights.

hulababy · 07/05/2006 20:26

We are flying with Virgin Atlantic to Orlando next month. Was a bit over £400 eah.

Went with Travel City diect 2 years ago, which was evry cheap. However the return flight home was terrible. Wouldn't use them again unless had to really.

Donbean · 07/05/2006 20:52

Thanks, we dont mind changing plane when in America, you know what i mean. We aren't necissarily bothered about a direct flight.

Doing a same day internal flight in the US after arrival from the UK is not an experience I would readily undertake unless I really had to!!.

If you do this (and I speak from experience here of such transfers) I would suggest you allow at least 2 hours between the time of arrival and departure. Charlotte is not a bad US airport to fly into (its less busy) if you're looking to fly south into Orlando.

hulababy · 07/05/2006 21:07

Where are you planning to fly into? Travel City flew to Sanford and we got a car hire from there anddrove to teh villa near Disney.

Donbean · 07/05/2006 21:22

Not sure because we are not sure where the accomodation is yet. we are told that it is a 5 min drive to the parks and are waiting for the map.
Which airport is best do you think?

OP posts:
hulababy · 07/05/2006 21:23

Orlando is closest, but Sanford is definitely doable if fly drive.

Donbean · 07/05/2006 21:26

How did you choose your flight operator hula?

OP posts:
hulababy · 07/05/2006 21:28

We choose Travel City first time as it was cheap, a good flight time and my parents had used them before. However the return flight was terrible and they villa we had with them had some problems and they dealt with it very badly. Put us off.

Chose Virgin this time as supposed to be very good and fly to Orlando which is closer. Also got a reasonably good price for the flights.

Donbean · 07/05/2006 21:32

sorry to go on and on but would you recommend we book now or wait till nearer the time?
I ask because we thought that by booking early bird so to speak, we would possibly get cheap flights.
Also, whatdo you class as "cheap"?

OP posts:
hulababy · 07/05/2006 21:34

I can't remember the flights from TCD now - 2 years ago, but less than £300 each. Virgin is just over £400 each this year

We booked our seats in Jan to go in June. We may have got cheaer leaving it later but was too anzious to leave it later!

Donbean · 07/05/2006 21:48

yes that is cheap.
we are anxious to wait nearer the time....andEXCITED!!!

Have been to Florida nine times, last time was 2003 (then our baby arrived and that put a stop to it for a while)

I can highly recommend Sanford Airport and have flown into both there and Orlando International. If you're looking to keep the cost down book a flight only and then the car rental separately. At Sanford I'd recommend Alamo rent a car as the cheapest.

Enjoy, you really are going to the happiest place in the world (and I'm so jealous!)

SharonW · 07/05/2006 21:57

Forgot to add, I've used Florida Select Villas to book my villa for the last 5 trips, can praise them highly enough. They're on the web.

hulababy · 07/05/2006 21:59

LOL Donbean. I go 5 weeks on Tuesday and very hyper already. keep looking, with DD, at the Disney and Universal sites and watching the mini videos of all the rides :)

Donbean · 07/05/2006 22:01

I know Sharon....we have been planning this and saving like mad for the last 3 years as soon as we got back from the 2nd time we went!!! Its SO exciting isnt it Grin
This time taking ds and booking it all ourselves.
We plan to book car hire seperately from the flight, its just like i said we are tottaly drowning in all the websites etc that sell these flights.
