Which is cleanest Portugal or Spain?

Am going to Portugal this year, after having been to Menorca last year and experiencing such a lovely beautiful clean resort I just was hoping that somebody could tell me that Portugal is the same as I think it would be hard to beat.

Have been to Greece and did not like it there as the sanitation was appalling and so would not take the kids.

I imagine that a 'sorted' and sane Spanish / Greek/ Portugese person wouldn't give a flying f* about the thread title

hey there crazydazy, have been to both and they both seemed clean enough! I also LOVE Greece. wouldn't mind retiring there...

for what it's worth, to an Asian like me, London is disgustingly filthy, full of stinky pee in grimy backlanes and smelly people on tubes (especially in the summer!). But I still like it, I guess.

But if you read the first post, rather than the thread title, it becomes apparent that Crazydazy is not talking about the whole of Spain or the whole of Portugal but The Algarve as opposed to the Costa del this-or-that. One bunch of resorts compared with another bunch of resorts.

Thanks Chipmonkey, thats exactly what I meant, you managed to describe it better than I did Smile

but even resorts vary so much. I can think of several quite filthy spanish resorts, and lots of v clean ones.

Frenchgirl · 08/05/2006 10:10

well you say that custy but I noticed in my SIL's house there is a little dusty patch behind a kitchen cupboard

PollyLogos · 08/05/2006 10:31

Well I understand that the toilet paper in bins isn't the best aspect of Greece but we all manage to live with it without getting ill!

You should try us again crazy day, IMO the facilities in Greece are vastly improved to several years ago. Depends a lot on which particular resort you choose in Greece I think eg I would not take a young family to Laganas in Zakynthos/Zante the streets there are full of vomit from drunk British tourists!

anywhere would be cleaner than my house right now!

I found Crete very clean, but I haven't been to Portugal for 15 years. I needed a toilet at the docks in Lisbon and was prepared for the worst BUT it was a spotless public toilet minded by a lady who was giving her family a cooked meal in her little glass cubicle!

chipmonkey · 09/05/2006 20:22

Stleger, which is cleaner, Mumsnet or Rollercoaster?Grin
