Help! Can't get a care seat for a renault megane, any ideas?

I have been to all my local car seat stores and no-one will sell me a 9months plus car seat for a renault megane, s reg, 98. They can not find one that fits the car. It seems the seat belts are in the wrong place and the seats slope at the side! Any one got any ideas?

If you go to Britax.co.uk, they have a 'car seat finder' section. They ask for details of you car and suggest seats that will fit.
I don't know if any of the other manufacturers do the same.

We have used a Britax Freeway in a variety of Renaults, pre and post 98 models, from Clio to 19 to Megane to Scenic, without any problem.
