Need inspiration for half-term - where can we go?

Help, inspiration needed for half-term!

I want to take the DSs to the seaside for a few days. Has to be somewhere accessible by train, as we don't drive. Would prefer sandy beach if poss.

We're in London and I don't want too long a train journey. Am thinking probably South Coast, but possibly Norfolk?

Anyone any suggestions?

Thanks for that - I'll try and find out more about those. We have friends in Hastings but I haven't been there for about six years, not since DS1 was a baby.

Dino yes you can get the train to Christchurch and a cab from there

Is a sandspit off Hengistbury head, no cars, a load of beach huts you can sleep in. There are shower/loo blocks

However it may be a bit dismal if weather is bad
