Where have you stayed in Melbourne with children?

I am looking at listings and there are so many.

Apartment or hotel. Central would be nice.

Any good suggestions?

We stayed at the Travelodge Southbank recently and it was fine. It's a few minutes walk to Flinders Street station and the casino with lots of restaurants and a food court are nearby too. It's cheap and cheerful .

The only downside was reserving a cot, as for our 3-day stay, we only got it for the last night - not very helpful .
