DS wants to explore the world but where?!

I've just spent a lovely afternoon in the garden with ds - it's the 1st time he's really been able to play outside and he really enjoyed it. problem is that he desparately wants to be able to explore - he's just started crawling and, of course, into everything! we only have a small, patioed area as our garden and i,m worried he'll hurt himself on that.
can anyone reccommend somewhere outdoors he could have a good roll around? i'm in east kent if you can think of anywhere specific, or just 'the park' will do (but not the park cos it's full of cat poo and empty beer cans!) :)

I thought this was going to be about a round the world trip! Put an old blanket down?

try this \link{http://www.upmystreet.com/findmynearest/a-to-z/p/l/kent.html\website} to find your nearest parks and attractions. I put Kent in but your can refine your search with your postcode.

When dd just started exploring we took her to some woods, sat her down next to a tree gave her a pile of leaves and some fir cones and she had a great time, absoultely filthy though but kept her entertained.

thanks all, some good ideas! the website was useful and like the idea of a forest. do soft play areas have outdoor bits? i'm not usually a panicky mum at all but i just have visions of him headbutting the concrete - he's just moving so fast all of a sudden!
