*Day out for 7yr old Birthday - help please!!*

My ds is 7 on 6 april and dp and me want to take him and a friend for a day out with ds who is 2, possibly theme park. We are in Sheffield but don't mind travelling if not too far. I have looked at Flamingo Land and Alton Towers so far but they seem really expensive £70 at cheapest and I'm 30 wks pregnant so won't be able to go on any rides anyway. Does any one have any ideas on where to go or a way I can get into these places cheaper. We were hoping to find something that was not just queing for big rides but has other things as well for ds and me!!

How about Gullivers Kingdom in Matlock? Not too far to drive, and rides are all aimed at under 12s I would say. Only thing is it is built on the side of a hill, so some steepish paths. You can get a chairlift up to the top though. There is one more scary rollercoaster, a train ride etc etc, we went end of summer hols last year, and only had to queue for one ride - this is set inside a builing - might be called Gulliver's flying carpet or something - if you can get straight in ok, but not worth a wait imo. There is some indoor soft play, and some really little ride so 2yo would be catered for. Not too expensive either, you only pay for children over a certain height, but then they can go onm everything, but is stuff that is suitable for the smaller children too. HTH

or if you have tescos vouchers you can swop those for entrance tickets. Or one you have decided where you want to go google the name and voucher and see what comes up.
