I went a couple of times as a teenager (years ago now!). It was lovely, and one of those places that probably hasn't changed very much. Very hot, but great for children. Italians are very good with children generally. Nice bars, nice restaurants, lovely beaches, gorgeous ice cream... Good idea, I'd say.

Ha ha! Where are you going? We went to Manfredonia. The head of tourism for the village was a friend of my step-father's and he spent his whole time trying to hide the fact that the town existed! It was a very well kept secret.

we're going near Tuglie, in the west. I haven't the faintest idea what to expect.
