the only choices are family room at the Sofitel, North terminal for £254+vat, including parking and get the shuttle over to the South terminal
or
Hilton Worth for £107 for a family room then about £25 for a taxi to the airport and £25 on the return. The taxi apparently takes "about 10 minutes".

Im all indecisive Smile

Our parking at the Hilton includes a shuttle bus to the airport but we are flying from East Midlands, we've got 2 rooms with 14 nights parking for less than £140. Are you looking directly through the hotels sites or are you booking through somewhere like Holiday extras?

stealthsquiggle · 13/08/2012 14:38

I am sure we have stayed for a lot less than that, including parking, because it was only about £10 more than the parking alone - and all have had shuttle buses (~£7 per adult for the bus).

Have you checked here?

Try the Felbridge Hotel and Spa, just had a lovely stay there. You can park thereTaxi cost us £13 to Gatwick Airport. Park and Fly link:

We go on honeymoon in Sept and we are travelling from Gatwick and have booked into the holiday inn - we stay there every time we travel - and they do free bus transfer every 15mins to the airport terminals.

Meant to say taxi to Gatwick took 10-15 mins, and the cost is included in their Park and Fly package. Here's a link to 15 days parking:

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 13/08/2012 14:46

Forgot to add for the one night stay plus 15days parking cost £126. Smile

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 13/08/2012 14:46

Have you tried premier inn in salfords (redhill)? It is cheap and only 15/20 mins tops to gatwick. And the taxi shouldn't be too expensive as I can get a taxi from my house for £30 and live at least 7 miles further away. If you can speak to reception there they can find out the taxi price for you.

Fluffy1234 · 13/08/2012 14:47

No way is the taxi £25 from Worth. Book a mini cab and it won't be more than £15.
Check out Ramada Jarvis.

I a, sure there is a Hilton which is part of gatwick. We stayed there a few years ago.

GusGus · 01/09/2012 00:07

Stayed at the Ramada which was nice you can find out more at ramada com and there are some other Gatwick hotels to choose from such as the Hilton and Europa.

Primrose123 · 01/09/2012 00:14

I'd recommend the ramada plaza as well. We've stayed there a few times, and usually paid about £70 for a family room, although its probably gone up now. We usually do parking separately at the airport.

HappySunflower · 01/09/2012 00:24

Just book a taxi through Crawley Cabs or similar- if you use the airport recommended firms they cost a lot more!

Primrose123 · 01/09/2012 10:20

What date are you looking for? Just one night?

sailorsgal · 01/09/2012 21:24

We have stayed at Premier Inn at Gatwick, there is a bus to terminal though it takes 5 mins to walk to North Terminal. we parked in the long term car park.

drcrab · 01/09/2012 21:28

Book through holiday extras. It's great service and cheaper than just parking!
