Hiring a DVD player on a TGV

Travelling down to the South of France soon by train with a 5-year old. I want to buy a DVD player but DH wants to hire a DVD player from the station in Paris. Has anyone tried hiring one and playimg DVD's bought in England?

Dont know about hire mechanics but there should be no issue playing uk DVD as its same region.

Also wondering if there would be time to hire one with only an hour to cross Paris.

And it does seem like a faff- hiring stuff is never as straight forward as you think

I doubt you'll have the time if you are doing the Gare du Nord-Gare de Lyon switch, traffic out of Gare du Nord is always a nightmare. You can play DVDs bought in the UK on a French dvd player though.

Yes, that's what I thought. Need to buy own dvdplayer perhaps.
