Sunsail Greece (or similar) in October

Has anyone been to the Sunsail Vounaki in October half term ? For a variety of reasons we haven't arranged a summer break yet so were thinking of having a week then somewhere which would be too warm mid summer.

dc will be 14 & 11 and have some dinghy experience, what are the conditions like? Is it good value and do you need to book the courses in advance and could they opt in /out of the kids' club as they chose? What other activities are on offer?

In the past we have been to Majorca at that time of year or alternatively were thinking of Sorrento, Italy, to see Pompeii etc so recommendations for those also welcome. Would prefer to stay shorthaul. tia

I hope you don't mind me replying as I work for Sunsail and wanted to help answer your questions about Vounaki.

The average temperature for Vounaki in October should be around 22C during the day. At night it can get cooler so we advise customers to take a fleece or similar for the evening. The Beach Club is based in a sheltered bay so it's a good place for your children to develop their sailing experience.

Your children are free to attend the Kids' Clubs as much or as little as they like and there are lots of on and off the water activities that they can get involved with such as sailing, windsurfing, snorkeling, table tennis, team games, windsurfing, ringos, tennis, beach BBQ's and more.

Your 11 year old will be able to join the Gybers Kids Club and your 14 year old the Beach Team Kids Club. You can read more about the Kids' Club options here: Kids' Club info
