Looking for a holiday in Devon for next weekend!

Please could anyone recommend a suitable holiday park in Devon that may have vacancies from Friday or Saturday for a week? Pref somewhere with a pool and not far from beach. Looking to rent a static caravan or chalet that won't break the bank. Suitable for family of 4 incl 2 teenagers. Any advice appreciated - thanks!

Haven's Devon Cliffs is a good lively holiday park right near the beach.

Still not booked anything - everytime I think somewhere looks good, I check tripadvisor and see some scary reviews!!! There still seems a lot of availability generally but prices are high. Any other recommendations anyone??

Challaborough - if they have spaces. Right on the beach. Has a pool. And the teenagers can have a surf lesson or two. Perfect.

Sorry x-post. Saintlyjimjams - thank you. Have you been there? Is it clean? Hoping it stops raining sometime soon!

I live nearby and a few friends have stayed there and we have a friend who own a caravan there as well. It's a small site, clean and tidy. The evening entertainment is a bit holiday camp-ish. Pool looks good and the surf school based there is fab. Hang on let me find a surf camp video from last week if I can. If there's no surf camp you can walk 5 mins to Bigbury and have a surf lesson there. Teens love it!

Oh hang on here's the site (no idea whether they have spaces)

And I'll do the holiday camp link again as I forgot to tick the box:

Ladram Bay!

saintlyjimjams · 31/07/2012 23:17

Let me know if you go! You'll probably see us on the beach. My son has a surf lesson booked this weekend (there are waves forecast) and I'll surf at the same time!

Park holidays have 1 week in a 6 berth chalet from this friday, for £598 at Riveria Bay holiday park near Brixham, south Devon, www.parkholidays.com/riviera-bay-holiday-park-village-brixham-devon

hellsbells99 · 01/08/2012 23:47

Thanks for all your help. Due to poor weather forecast we eventually decided on Devon Cliffs as hopefully alot to do if needed! Managed to get a privately owned caravan so price was reasonable and hopefully accommodation will be a good standard and clean :) Planning on spending a lot if time exploring local bays and hopefully booking DCs in for some surfing or windshrfing lessons

Have fun!

TBH if you're going to South Devon I'd still recommend Discovery surf school for the surf lessons.

For windsurfing I think reactive watersports in Plymouth travel, to various beaches.

saintlyjimjams · 02/08/2012 13:59

Oh actually ignore me, Devon Cliffs is in Exmouth isn't it, I was thinking it was in Torquay. Have fun anyway!
