Holiday in august with sin but not too hot!

Help. We have a new baby who doesn't like it when it's seriously scorchio, and a Dd(9) who wants to mess about in the pool all day. And a dh who wants good food. Help me please...

We always holiday in the French Alps in August. Lots of pools / lakes and not usually too hot. And that is August. I suspect that Lake Como would be similar, but perhaps a bit hotter. Have fun!

Slovenia especially by the lakes is beautiful and not too hot or crowded.

Apologies for piggy-backing OP, but we're looking for ideas for France for August. fedup are there particular locations in the Alps you would recommend, I'm struggling to focus my search!

Sin? Try one of the hedonistic resorts in the Caribbean.

Sun? Try menorca.

Menorca will be boiling in August.

I agree with lakes and mountains or somewhere not too far south - UK, Scandinavia, northern France, Belgium, Holland, etc.

OP / Prisoner we went to a Eurocamp type place near Lake Annecey when I was a teenager. It was lovely and I have always fancied going back.

There's gorgeous hotel in Sodom & Gomorrah, the fires of hell are far enough away to not burn.

I didn't find menorca that hot in August tbh. About 26 ish.
