menorca-need to hire a car?

going to Punta Prima with 2 toddlers and a double buggy. Will I need to hire a car? How big is the island? I know it's not far from the airport and we could easily just get a transfer but will I be missing out if just stay in Punta Prima and don't see the rest of the island or is this easy to do on public transport anyway? Thanks

You don't need to hire a car, Punta Prima is a small resort, but it has bars, restaurants and supermarkets, so does have all you need.

But I would hire one if I were you, there is a lot to see for such a small Island. Mao and Ciutadella are beautiful towns, well worth a visit to stroll along the harbours and both have fantastic architecture. There are a number of stone-age remains if you like that sort of thing. Fort Marlborough and La Mola are really interesting.

Each resort on the Island is different. Fornells is a stunning little fishing town, there are loads of virgin beaches (might be a struggle with little ones), Son Bou has the longest beach on the Island. Cala Galdana is stunningly pretty.

You probably get my drift. There is a car hire place in Punta Prima - see how you go and hire one for a couple of days if you want. That's how we started. There are buses if you only want to go up to Mao. When are you going? I shall be there in 3 weeks Grin
