Honeymoon with children aged 2 & 3

We are looking to book a honeymoon at the end of April (yes, this year!) with our two small children. Any ideas? Open minded whether hotel or villa or self catering; but need a bit of luxury! (definitely want suite/interconnecting rooms or smart villa), pool, sandy beach & restaurants within walking distance. Do not want all inclusive as we like to sample local life. Budget around £3000. Any ideas gratefully received as driving myself mad searching for the ideal!!

I would have thought anywhere on the Med would be fairly good that time of year. We are going to Spain end of April and it will be hot enough for us with our kids :)

Were you thinking of somewhere more exotic then? We went to Sri Lanka (October) one year and we went to Mexico last year in June, the Iberostar in Paraisa Beach was fantastic!!! However both would ahve cost more than £3K all-inc considering day trips, spending money etc.

Would love to go further afield but think we'll stay within a 4 hour flight, so had so far thought of Cyprus or Canaries for the sunshine, I love Italy and The Sara Hotel looks perfect.

Hi sjr we are looking for a honey moon for august and taking our 2 yr old with us. I want something a bit special too. I was looking at egypt, its a 5 hr flight and i was surprised at how cheap it is to go.
Also gran canaria is a nice place and good for kids as well, we have been there a lot

We normally stay at puerto rico which is south of the island. The hotel we always stay is the Puerto Azul hotel which caters well for children and adults. hope this helps

One hotel to look at in canaries is the princesayazia hotel in Playa Blanca.Have visited while staying in the area.Lovely hotel with nice beach.The website is www.princesayaiza.com
The other suggestion is the sani resort in Halkidiki.This is a group of 4 hotels 2 four star and 2 five star.The area is lovely with nice sandy beaches and lovely harbour with restaurants.If you book through the hotel much cheaper than through holiday brochures.The website is wwwsaniresort.gr
