Hi, I'm a going to turkey and my lo will be 4 months. What insect repellent can I use? Also can my lo go into the swimming pool?

I have just come back from turkey with my 10 month old DS. For mossie repellent we used mozzie guard (a natural repellent) on 4 yr old DD but on DS we used fantastic little patches which contain tiny beads on cironella which you burst and then to stick it to their vest or shirt. They are made by a company called green baby cost around £6-7 for 24 patches. DS didn't get bitten once so they did work (where as I picked up about 10 bites).

the pools is your decision - there's nothing to stop you although if the pools are very buy and full of very young children they may be a little dirty by the end of the day.

Thank you so much. I'm a first time mum so this is all new! I actually bought those patches on amazon and they've just come today I didn't know if they work or not, great to hear they do! What did you do for sterilising bottles? I'm thinking of bringing a tubberware box and Milton tablets.

We ordered a baby pack from our travel company (it had a baby bath, high chair, UV tent, a bottle warmer and an electric sterilizer) but previously I have just used a large tub (from the £1 shop) and milton tablets.

I lived in Turkey when my DD was a baby and I used to put a mosquito repellent on her called Johnsons Off! I think you can get baby safe repellent in Boots though, which may be better.

I used to take my baby in the pool but it was a quiet pool so I knew she wouldn't get splashed or anything.

Yes, take a box and Milton for sterilising.

You wont need to take nappies with you as you can get them out there easily enough but take nappy sacks as they don't have those. Take plenty of baby sun cream as that is very expensive out there, if you can find it at all.

Where are you staying?

That's for that I'll take the box and Milton then! I think I'll have to take nappies though as were staying in Nr Fethiye the resort is called Majesty Club Tuana & park it's on it's own it's 17km from Fethiye! The reason why I was asking about the pool is my LO will only have his first injections.
