Last minute holiday - mid July (pre school hols)

Hi,

We're suppposed to be in France at the moment (with 3 of mu uni friends, their DHs and young children) but my DH got pnuemonia.... Most inconsiderate of him! Anyway, we're now thinking of going away in mid July (as nanny is on holiday that week so it makes sense for us to go then too).

Does anybody have any ideas for a one week holiday that is reasonably "luxurious", has good children's facilities (clubs would be good but don't mind not having them) and isn't ridiculously expensive. Children are 4 and nearly 3. Tenerife has been suggested but never been to the Canaries. Considering Majorca (so looking at Cala d'Or as that's been recommended on here!).

Any other ideas? Really not fussed where we go as long as it's near a nice sandy beach and not too naff/over touristy!

(DH is on the mend by the way - I am concerned about him, honest...)

Glad your DH is better now. We're going marthas in cala dor here next week which is by cala D'or. Looks great and has really good write ups on trip advisor.

Ooh - thanks. Will have a proper look! Think we might end up having a budget friendly week at home (with maybe an overnight stay at Legoland - not that that is exactly cheap...!). Thank you though. (I really like the sound of Puerto Pollensa but probably a bit expensive for that week at the places I liked the look of... Ah well!). Have a lovely time!!
