Where to stay in Majorca???

Thinking about summer next year! Really like the idea of going to Majorca, but going round in circles about which area to stay. Really want a nice beach which you can walk along and child friendly. Kids will be 10,8 and 4 next year. Not fussed about nightlife, a few nice restaurants would be fine.
Also, somewhere that has good priced but nice accommodation, as some of the villas/ apartments ive seen are really expensive.
Thanks for Amy advice.

personally i found the whole of majorca overpriced villa wise, so we are going to algarve instead. cala bon is pants, but people seem to rate porta pollensa on here - though i couldn't find decent priced accommodation there

Basically, a good priced holiday and accomm during the school hols is always going to be hard to find.

Puerto Pollensa is lovely, and as long as the DC are happy without mini discos and kids clubs S/C apartment seems right for you. Be aware that a taxi transfer from the airport will set you back quite a bit of cash as it is not close (if not hiring a car, using public buses, or holiday company transfer coach)

It easy to walk around the resort as it is very flat, and there are good restaurants, the beach is really nice. Look at the website www.puertopollensa.com for lots of information about the resort, reviews, accommodation, eating out, things to see and do.

Happy without mini discos etc! Transfers not a problem as we always hire a car from the airport. Will check out this website, thanks.

We're going back to Sa Coma for 3rd time in July. We stay at the Protur Safari, loads for kids, and a fab beach very close by.

Another Puerto Pollenca vote here - mil has an apartment in old town Pollenca so we have spent many happy holidays on the beach in the Port Grin
