wet weather days out in South Devon?

Preferably not too expensive? We're about to set off for what looks to be a wet week, staying in a cottage near Bigbury-on-Sea. We've got a 17 mo and a 4 yo who loves dinosaurs and who is convinced he's going to find dinosaur bones on the beach. (We'll have to do a daytrip to Charmouth for fossil hunting, I think.)

I'm wondering about decent swimming pools (preferably ones with flumes or other fun things), farm parks with lots of cover, child-friendly museums, anything to do with dinosaurs Grin, or, I suppose, decent soft-play centres.

Please, lovely MNers, help me out! Ideally we'll spend all day on the beach, and a bit of drizzle won't scare us off, but non-stop torrential rain and gales will. Sad

Woodlands is quite good even in bad weather, quite a few indoor play areas. And you get wet on the flumes anyway.

Torquay has quite a few places for wet weather. Paignton and living coasts zoos are partly under cover, also there's a soft play there (or was, I haven't been in the last couple of years) called Rainbow fun house. there's also Kents cavern, and Bygones museum of victoriana. And a small Dinosaur world (very small, don't expect much but it's OK for a couple of hours on a wet day).

I live very close to Bigbury and have got a ridiculously big tub of dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes (they have been used in sand and water and are currently stored under a playhouse). If you would like to borrow them you would be welcome.

we went to Bigbury the other year and had a few very wet days, this is what we did:

Went to Plymouth to the Cinema
Went to the Aquarium
Went to Kingsbridge and had fish and chips in a chippy/restuarant lush :)
Went to Crealy adventure play area - indoors as well and on Tesco vouchers
Drove to Exmouth to the World of Country - mainly all indoors
