USA /UK passport nightmare...

We are traveling short notice with baby - backstory is basically I'm American and my husband is British - she was born in the UK and so has uk citizenship, birth certificate etc. I have got her US citizenship all sorted etc, along with US passport. I am in the process of getting the UK passport sorted but I'm worried it won't arrive before we need to fly. My question is whether she will be able to travel to France and back to UK on the American passport should it come to that. I've tried calling the us embassy and the home office but no one seems to be able to give me a straight answer.... Worried about an immigration nightmare! Thanks

Yes, she will. I'm British, my husband is American, and my daughter has only an American passport. We've gone back and forth between Germany and the UK (and also Germany to France and back) many times with no problems. As long as her US passport is valid, you should be fine.
