Advance booking for Christmas flights

We are going to Northern Ireland for Christmas. We obviously want to get a good price on flights, and we've never travelled at Christmas before. If we book now are prices likely to go up or down?

prices always go up as the dates for travel get closer

Thanks for replying. So even though it's nearly a year away they are likely to only go up?

Yes, for cheapest flights book as soon as they are released.

Especially for peak seasons - high summer and Xmas etc.

If you're going budget airline, book as soon as you can after the flight dates are released.
