Are there any vouchers for the open top bus ride? I've been spoiled as have used Tesco vouchers for London and York, and am planning on going on Oxford one, but I'm a bit Shock at the prices! We're going to be 2 adults, 2 senior citz and 1 child, which is scary money, so any 2 for 1s or other tips or tricks would be hugely welcome!

Have you looked on vouchercodes.co.uk? If you just type in the bus company and search it'll tell you if there's any 2for1s or anything.
To be honest though, I grew up near Oxford, and I'm not sure that the open top bus ride is worth the money. You'd probably be better off getting a guide book, and picking out the things you want to see, and going by foot. The bits that I found most interesting about the city I'm pretty sure are not on the tour. Bridge of Sighs is one of them. Maybe spend the money on punting down the river or a boat ride down the river instead of the bus????
How old is your dc? They have an ice rink there. Although, not sure how agile your 2 senior citizens are!!
Have fun when you do go.

I had the same thought actually, where does the bus tour go? Because most of what you want to see in Oxford is pretty close together, and there are lots of roads that buses and traffic can't go on. So I would look into just walking around and saving your money.
I just looked at the map, and definitely don't think it's worth it if you can walk at all. It does take you to St Hugh's which is a bit far out, but also not really worth seeing.
Oxford is a reasonable sized city, but most of the things you want to see are in a very small area.

Do a walking tour instead! There is a free one, or oxfam run one for abt £2:50 i think. As above, ox is a small city, bus can't go thru' lots of it. How old is dc?

Thanks all, we went yesterday in the drizzle, and everyone managed the walk from the High Street to the Pitt Rivers and back (via Pie Minister and Ben's Cookies!), partly I suspect out of outrage as I'd suggested getting a taxi so they had to prove that I was underestimating their stamina! Will hopefully go back one more time in better weather, to get some punting in, although it was free when I was at college, so it'll be a shock to pay for it!
