summer camps for teens in UK?

Can anyone recommend a residential summer camp for girls (15 and 12)? Was thinking Outward Bound, but read a kid's account of a week there and fear it may not be a good fit for dd.

Does it have to be girls only? I have sent three boys to PGL and they loved it.

I would say try PGL too. They seem relatively reasonably priced - and they do lots of activities.
I haven't used them though - sorry. I always packed my son off to Beavers/Cubs/ Scout camps :)

Thanks. Will look at PGL. Doesn't have to be girls-only.

PGL offer various money off vouchers like buy one get one free so make sure you search for these first. we are sending our 3 again this year. would recommend osmington bay (but might be closed during the olympics) but definately avoid boreatton park. huge and not very clean and certainly the worst one of the camps they offer. they do also do trips to france that involve either a week of water sports of canoeing down a river which my eldest 2 are going to do next year.

How old do they have to be to get a lot out of these camps? Mine have expressed an interest but am not sure.

I think PGL take them from 7. The activities are age-related and all the instructor-type people I met (I forget what they're called) were wildly enthusaiastic and really good at getting the kids involved.
