HELP!! Passport Renewal Advice

I'm taking my 11 year old to Florida at the end of March and have realised we don't have 6 months left on her passport, which apparently she needs before we go...SO I have completed her form to send off on Monday and my signature has wobbled because the pen was rubbish. It's inside the box, it just looks like it's been gone over with a black pen. I know before I ask...would the Passport people just think, oh that woman has a wobbly looking signature, or am I dreaming. Do I need to get a new application form? I'm about to cry! HELP PLEASE!

The post office offer a check and send service.. they check it over first and send it for you. It is a bit more expensive but worth it for you probably. If they think it wont be accepted you will have to do it again.

Also I think the Post Office service guarantees a return in 2 weeks

I found this on the FCO's official website:

"Does my British passport have to be valid for six months beyond my date of departure from the United States?
No, if your passport is not valid for at least six months beyond your date of departure from the United States, it will not affect your eligibility to travel. The United States has an agreement with the United Kingdom automatically extending the validity of a passport for six months past the passport's expiration date. Therefore, your passport need remain valid only for the duration of your stay in the United States.
If you are travelling visa free under the Visa Waiver Program and your passport is not valid for 90 days, you will be admitted into the United States until the date on which the passport expires"

I echo Meditrina-we have just come back from a few days in states and had this panic too and the info posted above is correct. You can do the ESTA visa thing online and you get the authorisation back straight away- costs about $14 per person I think. And then you just have to give your airline your passport details before travel- you can do this with online check in. Have a good trip!
