Flying in June with Easy Jet; Our 3 year old needs a car seat on the flight. It says the car seat cannot be wider than 42cm.

Am I being really thick or what: I keep seeing car seat measurements as W 46 and L 42 am I looking at the wrong car seats, the wrong measurement, am I being stupid or is there a specific car seat I need to buy - first time flying with DS so very confused.
Hold my hand and help me

Can I ask why you need a car seat is it for the other end or are you using it on the flight for other reasons.

We fly with easyjet to scotland on a regular(ish) basis with dd's who are 6, 4 and 2 and have never taken a car seat when dd3 was under two she went on my lap and now she proudly sits in her own seat. Could you not put the car seat in the hold for the flight if you have to take one with you (NB I don't know how much this will cost!)

ps I think you're looking at the right seat measurements the seats (being easyjet!) are obviously quite narrow!

Doris that's what I was thinking with my DD she will sit on my lap and her car seat will be checked in for the other end, but with DS who is 3 the customer service advisor said we'd need a car seat for his seat ( he will have his own ) but on the web site its says you may and now I can't get through to them, so the issue is we will be taking both car seats but if he needed one on the airplane our ones are too wide. Maybe am totally confused will try and speak to them again but handy to know that you don't need one

I think I got my knickers in a twist and I don't need to put DS in car seat on flight and will just check it in. DOH but customer rep was not very helpful
Thank you Doris

You don't need a car seat to sit on the plane. My two year old sits in one fine. I don't think she can sit in it for takeoff/landing anyway. The person on the phone is a bit confused I think! :)
