the fish in hawaai?

Went to Honolulu for work 2 years ago. Flight time was about 14 hrs to San Francisco then about another 4 or 5 I think. Wasn't very impressed by Honolulu but have friends in SF who say that the remoter parts are gorgeous.

Kauai, Lanaii and the Big Island were all great. Kauai probably my favourite though- so green and beautiful. Some nice hiking there too.

I liked bits of Maui, but some of it is quite over developed really.

The hotel in Lanaii was by far the nicest we stayed at, and the beaches were nice, but nowt else other than pineapples on the rest of the island really!

Go, I recently turned down a press trip to Kentucky on the basis that it was too far to go for 3 days but I would have had to work. And it was only a holiday fair Kentucky or some such other boring thing. If I had the chance just to lig I would definitely go for all the reasons Beety mentioned. It would be FUN to go to Hawai even just for 4 days. And it's half term so if you do have bad jet lag you can take it easy when you get back. GO!!!

The first time we went we were on honeymoon and we stopped off one night in SF out and LA back

And it was terrible to get out of airport go to hotel sleep go back to airport and check in again

Also on the way home we had a crate of pinapples we were bringing home for family etc from Hawaii and so we had to take them to hotel for night

This was 15 years ago, wouldn't be allowed to do that now -- these had been checked by enviromental dept etc for export and inport etc. We were not allowed to break seal and eat one although they smelt wonderful

Deffo better to spend the time in Hawaii and connect the flights with a couple of hours to walk around aiport

or do SF or LA properly and spend few days there

It took us about 24 hrs roughly to get there, and were very jet lagged (passing out at 8pm) for the first week.
Lovely, but don't think I would do it for a short visit.
