Seen a nice place to stay here, we fancied going to Wales this year during July. Anyone know it or can recommend the area. Snowdonia, Portmeirion etc. Any bits and pieces of advice would be great, thanks.

Yes, i know the area having visited last two years in area, lovely place, can get crowded during summer, it sits across the estuary from Ynyslas, There is lots of things to do nearby and is a very beautiful area.

We stayed at the Trefeddian Hotel which was really nice in Aberdovey. We've also stayed at Plas Talgarth Country Club at Pennal nearby which is a fab place which caters for all of family (health and beauty facilities etc)

Other attractions include Portmeirion, the alternative Technology Centre and King Arthur's Labyrinth and Aberystwyth is very nearby which is worth a visit, as is Ynyslas nature reserve.

Do a search here and it will come up with all places in the area that have been reviewed:-

Happy holidays :-)

thanks so much you two, you obviously have happy fond memories from there, which is great. Have spent several hours googling various places around it this afternoon, things to do etc.

Are the beaches lovely?

Thanks MaloryTowers, great assortment. We are trying to try an alternative this year to Cornwall and Devon. Am slightly nervous as don't know area AT ALL! And I really want to make the most of it.

...and there'a an outward bound centre there which means lots of hunky outdoorsy types in the Dovey Inn. (slightly off subject but a big draw for me, I remember!)

I saw that was there Wordsmith, I remember reading several years ago that they do family courses (think it was at the Lake District one) might see if they do that in Wales, might suit older son.
