£10 travelodges

You can now book them all year!
I've just booked 2 nights at a travelodge on a family room at Heathrow, end of March (ready for Legoland opening) for £20.

Also booked 2 nights (one night on the way there, one on the way back) at a travelodge at Chieveley Aug/Sept, for when we go on our hols down to Devon, again £10 per night!

BARGAIN!

The thing to do is to pick a date when you want to go and have a look see whats available. The website is really user friendly, in that if you specify a date and travelodge, it shows dates either side of it, and how much it costs at nearby travelodges. Thats why we're at Heathrow, rather than Slough/Staines for Legoland
You can get it to list all the £10 rooms in the country on a given date if you want....

Whats available depends on the travelodge, most are at weekends, some are midweek as well. I wound DH up by suggesting we spend a week at Bicester travelodge (near the outlet village!) for only £70

This is a fab deal. We just spent 10 days down south visiting all our friends and family. We need 2 rooms (4 girls) so usually costs a fortune. Such a bargain.

Why doesn't that surprise me?

I have been checking out the discount rooms and every room I look at is normal rate, I am picking places like York and Pembroke, is that where I am going wrong?

I've never had any luck finding cheap travelodges for York. Closest I could get is somewhere like Leeds or Bradford.

Funnily enough I was looking for £10 offers in York earlier..... you ARE stalking me!!!!!

probably WCL. as availability is quite limited, the most obvious tourist destinations go first. When we booked this offer to stay in Scotland last year, we ended up in Glenrothes (dull new town), rather than Glasgow (as of course all booked up)

Thanks for the info MummyToSteven, I want to take DS to train museum in York so was hoping for a bargain as other alternative is camping, heaven forbid!!!

The trick with the deal is to pick supersaver search, and THEN specify the travel lodge you want - it will then come up with the ones nearest to where you want to be

WestCountryLass - if you'd be travelling by train, what about finding somewhere that's on the route home? (Ds's absolute best visits are when we go by train)

Or indeed, you could do this however you travel!

What do you generally do in the evening when children are asleep - do travelodges usually have a restaurant/bar within monitor distance?

Great tip, we have just booked a cottage in Durham for the first week in April, so managed to bage 3x£10 rooms as we are taking my Mum, to break up the 7 hour journey, fantastic bargain!

We've just booked a week in the South of England (Arundel, Hastings, etc), May bank holiday, for £86!

A tip - don't necessarily believe the chart showing which hotels have £10/£26 rooms. If there is a specific area you want, try one hotel, and if thats not got an offer, look to the right and see what prices the nearby hotels are offering.
I was getting £10 rooms which weren't on the list!
Secondly if you want to book more than 1 night, you might need to book them separately to get the lowest price

I found there were loads more came up if you search for 1 night instead of 5 even though they are availible.
