Hi All

Trying to decide whether to go to a French campsite ( Languedoc coast) or try out the Venetian Riveria. If any one has been to Marina di Venezia - please let me know what you think. Have quote from Venue holidays as trying to avoid the big tour operators who are normally more expensive
Also looking at Union Lido but the tour operator we looked at is already fully booked for 3 bed mobiles !!!!
Children will be 12,7 and 5 next August.

Please let me have your comments on the campsites and tour operators.

Many Thanks

We went to Union Lido with Canvas a few years back. We had a great holiday but went in June. It is a huge site and would be HEAVING in August I think. In June you had to queue to get a sunbed at the pools. There is a huge sandy beach so not necessarily a problem. The facilities were wonderful.

I am looking at www.portofelice.it for next year after several recommendations on here. They have a site-run kids club and whilst I think Canvas go there, you can book a range of accommodation direct from the site.

If you are thinking of France - La Carabasse with Siblu would be excellent for kids of your ages....we went last year. Great pools, and everything within walking distance - beach, shops, restaurants etc , including a huge fun fair.

Many thanks for your messages. I will take a look at both of these.

Did Union Lido have a siesta time during 1-3pm ? Apparenty Marina de Venezia closes everything during this time.

Have a feeling most places will be heaving in August. We are planning to go for about 10 nights at end of August when the French campsites tend to be quiter ( and cheaper).

I remember you had to be quiet and you couldn't drive round. I don't remember if they shut the pools or not though...very possibly.
