etap style hotels - only three people?

We need a stop over for night travelling up from Toulouse. Are looking at the etap style hotels but they seem to only be for three people. We are a family of seven - so do we really need three rooms? Any other suggestions re hotel chains that sleep four in a room? Thanks

We have found that nearly all French motorway hotels only allow bookings on their websites for up to 3 people. We stayed in an Ibis with our 2 DC and took our camp beds with us...the hotel werent bothered but it was quite a squeeze in the room! If I were you I would just book 2 rooms and take a blow-up matress for the 7th person.

Presumably you have 5 children under 18? In which case having 3 rooms would mean one room would have no adult in it. This is your justification for only booking 2 rooms if the hotel gets arsey with you about it Smile

Thanks breadcrumbs. Yes it would mean a room with a 12 & 10 year old in on their own - not ideal. Guess we will be squeezing in a therma-rest!!!

Try these:

We have stayed with them many times. Their family rooms are great but there is no guarantee they will have availability now. We are a family of 5 so as the family room occupancy is 4 we book two rooms so that we can then also book breakfast. We then all stay in the one room but raid the other room for bedding, towels etc.

Good luck.

Tried B&B Hotels as recommended by Gnome for the first time a couple of weeks ago - stayed at Chartres.

Had family room with mezzanine with 2 single beds for DCs. Very comfortable beds and they loved having their own "area". The steps down were pretty steep though so may not be suitable for very small children.

Room and breakfast a lot cheaper than Novotels which we have always used before for 4 person rooms. Buffet breakfast had a wide enough range of food for us.
