We have had a horrid time recently, and I would like to get away over New Year. I don't care where it is - so long as I leave the UK!! DH, me and the kids ( aged 10 and 12 )

Anybody got any great ideas .... I have had a quick look on the Net - but over New Year it's all quite pricey.

Does it have to be hot?
Ideally I'd want to go somewhere like Norway or Iceland.

I went to Barcelona in January once, v cheap flights, lovely food, nice hotel, fantastic museums, art galleries and little one loved the cable car. It was even warm enough to go paddling in the sea!

For cheap flights have a look atskyscanner they come up with some good deals and if you dont know where you want to go, they will give you a list of flights for that date.
