taking baby formula powder on planes

We are moving countries and want to take a couple of tins of powder with us on the aeroplane to use at the destination country. Is it safe to put it in hold luggage? I'm thinking of the very low temperatures and wondering whether it could damage the powder? If so, is it possible to take a couple of unopened tins in my hand luggage. My baby is fed breast and formula, so not a problem when flying (i am going to breast feed exclusively during the flight).

Thanks fro your help!

I can't see why not. Which country are you moving to? I am sure that with the extensive web of MNers abroad, someone will be able to advise you on the availabity in your destination.

What a load of gobbledegook, what I mean is , there will be someone living in or near where you are moving to.

It's fine in the hold. I took a tub on holiday last year and no problems at all.
