2 centre florida holiday -disney sorted but need help with 2nd week please .......

We have sorted disney out for a week but have been searching for where to go in the second week on the gulf coast ,it has to be very child friendly on a nice beach with very child friendly pools . We would also like to be able to walk to restaurants ,entertainment in the evening ,can anybody help please ? so far we have looked at st petes and clearwater and just dont even know if we are looking in the right place !!

Sanibel is wonderful.

Clearwater is great for families especially the beach and the evening entertainment. But the whole area has lots to do we have stayed here in the past

Captiva or Sanibel are very nice - I stayed there with DC post Disney when they were young. Lovely beaches and great restaurants. We rented a house (which had a lovely pool and private jetty), but there are beach condos/hotels with good facilities on both islands.
