Holiday alone with 3 yr old - ideas?

I am not a single parent but my husband now tied up with setting up own business so I want to plan a few hols for me and son to do alone where I know there will be other parents and children etc but as not single parent feel single parent hol sites not ok! Ideas uk and Europe?

Personally I'd go to campsites in Cornwall, but that's because I know it well and know there is loads to do, loads of kid-friendly type things around. Generally people are friendly and chatty and may be willing to share a bottle of wine in the evening after the kids are asleep?

Somewhere with a childrens club or camping would get my vote. Me and DD go away frequently without DH. She is almost 10 and an only child so it makes it a whole lot easier if there are other children to play with.
