Holiday in June - home or away?

We are pretty skint at the moment but have been given a windfall to use as a holiday. We haven't been abroad in years and our 4 yr old and 9m old haven't been either.

Thing is I have had mixed holidays abroad and given this is our first as a family I am scared we will spend alot and have a disappointing time. I know you can't guarantee everything but would hate to spend the (quoted) £1500 and have a rubbish time. I know if we paid more we might get a better holiday but it's all we have.

Soooooooo was thinking about forgetting the trip to Spain or wherever and staying in UK. Options are a cottage (but if weather is bad........) or that old fave C Parcs. I know it's a cliche but you know what you're getting and we have been before and our DD loved it.

What do you think? Take a risk and go abroad for some well needed sun on the beach or stay here in UK and do the safe option?

Would love some ideas. Thankyou.

June is ususally pretty good in the UK. I can recommend special places to stay and kiddiwalks

Have a great time

How about Eurocamp? Haven't been (as also very skint) but has good reviews from friends. Another cliche I know, but I understand the desire to play it safe with your precious cash.

Enjoy.

Thanks. Only thing that puts me off Eurocamp is the driving. I hate driving huge distances and so does DH. I might have a look though.

Eurocamp with small people if weather good is lovely - Keycamp is same but often cheaper - You could get budget airline and then hire a car -

June is one of the cheaper months to go anywhere in the Med -look out for offers nearer the time Cala D'Or is a nice place in Mallorca to go to nice little sandy bays rather than miles of beach and plenty of walks with pushcahair friendly paths i.e getting built up round there but still pretty
