Good cheap travel insurance?

can anyone recommend travel insurance. Had a quote from the Co op which seemed quite expensive but I've never even heard of some of the companies offering cheaper policies. We tend to travel independently, if that makes any difference?

TBH, I just go through the moneysupermarket price comparison thingy. As long as it covers my main issues adequately, (loss of baggage, missed departure, holiday company/airline going bust) then I'm usually happy.

It can vary but I don't think it does- always check the small print!

I know many policies are only geared up for package-type travel so if there's a problem with your flight and you are delayed or cancelled you might still end up having to pay your hotel bill...

The Post Office offers good priced holiday insurance, usually cheaper than the Travel Agents.

Would agree with Post Office, have often bought with them, although have tightened up recently on their cover for pre-existing health conditions, so don't use any more.
