Having just read the tips on Longleat I was wondering about Elveden as we have booked for the end of Nov/Dec?

Thanks

We loved Elveden - I think it's also flatter and easier to bike around than the others. Otherwise, I think a lot of the tips go for all the Centreparcs. A few things I wish I'd known or thought about in advance: rent the bikes on day 1 - they're lots of fun to ride round the property (granted, we were there in summer, so maybe not as good in the winter); pass on the spa unless you're desperate - the treatments are very expensive and I thought relatively mediocre - probably, you could do better in a day spa near your home - one exception is the baths/steam/sauna you can do - my husband and I went while our daughter was at the kid's club (there's a special package for that) and really enjoyed moving from area to area and relaxing together. Avoid the restaurants as much as possible - crowded, slow service, expensive (unless you really try for kids special hours etc) and not very good. We brought a load of M&S and other goodies and self catered most dinners - much nicer. The exception at Elveden was the Indian, which was pretty good. We also got a sitter one night and went to the French restaurant (can't remember the name) which was a bit silly (revolving restaurant and overly formal service and fussy menu) but decent food and a "grown up" night out. We also pre-booked loads of kids club programs, but in the end, our daughter better enjoyed hanging out with us, biking, swimming, and playing with other kids at the various playgrounds. In short, the experience was great, but no need to bother too much with the expensive extras.
