I have just been lucky enough to have been given some tickets for the current production of 'Chess' I was hoping to take dd(12)and a couple of her friends, but someone has just old me that they had heard the performance was 'a bit raunchy' and not suitable for children.... Have any of you seen it and if so am I safe to take the girls along or am I in danger of enciting the wrath of angry parents for corrupting their offspring?!! Any advice/info would be very gratefully received. Thanks

I saw Chess in the West End a few years ago and didn't consider it 'raunchy' and my DDs school has just done a great performance of it-most enjoyable.Don't know this current production but most 12 year olds are pretty un-shockable after what they see on TV.

I made the mistake of taking my lot to see Taboo (Boy Georges life story) and had to leave after 6 minutesBlush, this was despite getting child discounts on their tickets, surely the theatre should have warned me!

I saw it when it came out originally when I was late teens.

It wasn't raunchy at all. Very, very tedious as far as I remember.

Thanks for you info crunched & piprabbit. It is the current production choreographed by Craig Revell Horeward(not sure if correct spelling!) I have just had a quick dig around the review sites and someone has made reference to the dancers looking like they were modelling S&M Lingerie from a well known High St outlet with the initials A.S. Also the words 'groping' and 'orgy' were used? Confused Do you think these are just the words of a couple of easily shocked prudes or am I about to make a similar faux pas to you crunched? If any one has seen this version & could clarify I would be very grateful.
