Keycamp/Canvas Holiday/Eurocamp in France

We want to do a keycamp/canvas holiday/eurocamp holiday in France. Probably staying in a static caravan

Can anyone recommend (or not) any of these companies? Or a particular campsite?

We have a five year old and a two year old

Thanks

the companies you list are all much of a muchness.

first decide your priorities - do you want guaranteed sun (in which case you will need to drive south) or do you want minimum driving.

what facilities do you want on site - lots so might be a bit busier, or less and a quieter site.

personally we like brittany - its like cornwall without the tat and crowds and more sun, espec south brittany. and not to far to drive. but it does rain. vendee lacked the interesting towns and countryside

ukcampsites has reviews of different sites and 1 of the companies you list does on their websites - can't remember which. i'd go for as large a van as you can afford and try and see from the reviews how big the pitch sizes are/crammed in the vans are.

try not to travel down on a sat in school hols as thats when all french go on hol and traffic bad.

i'd go in june as its much quieter and cheaper. look at what ferry crossing you are doing as that might help you choose area.

its a great holiday with kids of your ages

Thanks dreamingofsun

There seems to be so much to consider, my head is spinning!

We are pretty much set on Brittany. Can you recommend any sites? We want a quieter site if possible

good choice. we've been to brittany about 10 times in vans and once in a guite.

les deux fontaines is one of the smaller ones - but we always go to ones with facilities, eg bar, tennis as my kids are active. the eurocamp statics were at the back of this site in nice quiet area with roomy pitches. you can walk through the fields to a nice beach.

carnac is our favourite area and we've been to grand metairie - but think it might be bit busy for you and we've always been lucky with pitches - there are other sites in area though say at trinite

we've also been to la ranolien, l'atlantique, chateau des ormes and garangeoiure (vendee). so if after looking them up you have any questions about some of these let me know. i don't have access to pc after today for a week though

oh and we also stayed for 1 night in la vallee normandy - site fine but pitch directly next to railway line - so wouldn't go there again
