first choice holiday park Algarve- advice needed

Anyone been?
We are planning to go in June with 2 dc's 4 and almost 6.
For our first family holiday abroad!!
Dont normally like this sort of package holiday but we need to make things easy, short flight, accommodation with separate sleeping areas, lots of pools/activities on site etc and this seems to fit the bill.
wondering- should we go all inclusive or self cater?
Flights- would we be sat together on the plane or is it advisable to do the pick your own seats option to guarantee this?
transfer- sounds longish at around an hour- is a taxi much quicker, does the coach drop lots off before our drop and is coach air conditioned?
any other tips and advice?
Really want a sunny holiday this year and I am sure the kids would love it but DH is a bit of a fussy bugger!! Used to travelling in a bit more luxury so any advice to make life easier for all(me) would be great.

I would go all incl as it will probably work out much cheaper. We went to Spain last year self catering and it was costing about £100 per day for food and drink, and we didn't go anywhere very posh.(2 adults and 2 children aged 5 and 3). Haven't been to the place you say - I'd be a bit scared of it being too full of children, but in June you should be out of school holidays, so it should be quieter, unless it's half term....

I wouldn't bother booking seats - it is a short flight and they can't seat small children separately so worst case scenario is 2 x 1 adult and 1 child together.

Thanks
Yes I thought all inclusive sounded better. Deliberately going out of school holidays so its not quite so busy!
Good call about the seats on the plane, Had heard horror stories of families being given 4 separate seats on the plane even kids but yes ours are too young for that.
Found a review of this place on the travel reviews section and that gave me some good info too. Fingers crossed it'll be fine! So useless and making decisions about holidays

Other advantages of all inclusive are that you and the children can eat at different times if necessary. You don't have to carry cash around with you. If they don't like something you haven't wasted any money as you can just go and get something else.

We all got split up on our flights to the US last year - a brief explanation to the couple sat with my 4 year old DS that he tended to get a bit restless after a couple of hours and airsick and they swapped straight away! DD was very good at pretending to be unwell also ... Grin

I always book a taxi transfer as it gets you to the hotel faster than any coach. You can usually find recommendations on Holiday Truths and I've never had any problems.

we went to portugal last year and the holiday village was one of the drop offs as went to our place. I have to say it looked hideous to us adults, but our kids were drooling at the sight of it. Probably ideal for what you want!
