we would like to try and go to morocco (marakesh) for a child-free few days at some point this year,

could anyone advise as to when the best time weather wise is to go. ideally we would go at the end of august to coincide with our 10 year wedding anniversary but not if it is going to be cold/rainy/windy or anything other than nice weather! if anyone has any advice that would be great

thanks!

I have been in feb (rained for 5 out of 7 days, but great anyway) and early April which was warm enough to sunbathe and needed a sunhat. I understand august is seriously hot; I personally wouldn't want to go in the peak of summer. A friend went last sep and said it was very hot but they enjoyed it. Try asking on the Marrakech forum of tripadvisor.com.

went in october half term and it was warm/hot for 3 days , raining for a couple and dry / cloudy for 2 approx - great place to visit though!!

cheers for that everyone, not sure how much i would enjoy it if it is seriously hot - maybe need to rethink!

We went to Agadir end last Aug. When the clouds were gone it was seriously hot (Agadir always gets cloudy in Aug, but M'kesh doesn't).

We spent 2 days in M'kesh and that was more than enough, it's very humid as well. It's a lovely place, but I would avoid Aug TBH.

Also last year, this year and 2012 Ramadan falls in Aug so it's probably not the best time to go.
