I was looking for some advice where to take 13 year old DS on holiday just for a week from the start of the summer holidays, and somewhere not to hot and a bit of culture, I can spend up to £800 each.

Have you thought of a one week cruise. I have one ds age 13.Who loves cruising. Great teenage clubs with lots of activities. We enjoy going of ship in the mornings and seeing different ports. Normally find interesting museum or zoo.

Hi Mutt

We always go with P and O from Southampton. We tend to do a one week cruise each year in one of the half terms.Although we have been once in the summer for 14 nights. We have been going since ds was 8.He loves it.If you look on p and o website you can print of example timetable for children's clubs. It shows wide range of activities they can do.

We did Ocean Village which is now no more but I saw an offer on Travel Zoo for £499 or £699 for a balcony for the same destinations. Includes your flight to Barcelona then 7 days round the Med. really good value I think. My sons favourite holiday.

Thank you I will have a look at P&O and Ocean Village.

Sorry Ocean Village are no more (ship sold to Australians or something).
Have a look on travel zoo under cruise section. That £499 cruise was with Norweign Gem/Jewel? I think. You have to book by tommorrow but they have loads of good deals all the time. Criuses are really good valuale I think as the Euro is really expensive at the moment.
