Flipping summer holiday prices!!!

Following on from Cod's thread - I sent off for a few holiday brochures for next summer and a few arrived yesterday.

Now I confess to liking a bit of luxury so the resorts we were looking at a nice ones! However the prices are absolutely amazing.

Vila Vita Parc - portugal - £3900 per person for two weeks.

Arabella Hilton - Mallorca - £2900 per person for two weeks!

We thought we had been really extravagent this summer by going to Mauritius for 3 weeks and staying in a 5* hotel. It looks like this is way cheaper than some of the Med resorts though!

I think I am going to book the holiday that CD recommended to COd - but even that £4000+ for two weeks is rather ridiculous!!

Or perhaps we'll go further afield - possibly California!

Is it just me or is spending £12,000+ for 2 weeks on the med just madness?????

Try different companies. I've found that First Choice offer a better price than most over travel agents.

I wouldn't spend £20,000 on 2 weeks holiday, even if I had that much money!

Have a look at medhotels we have booked our summer holiday next year independantly. It has worked out much cheaper than holiday brochures and we have lovely daytime sat flights.

Great site Marbeth thanks - have found a few possibilities so will discuss with DH later! The early booking discounts are really good too, so worth getting it all sorted out now!

Thanks again!

Kid - I quite agree!

soapbox- i could get a price for you if you like, just give me the dates- kids ages and departure airport. The brochure price is always loads more than what we actually have on the system.
