Nice self catering near to malaga?

Just booked some easyjet flights to malaga for a long weekend at the end of march.

The trouble is, I dont know anything about it, and there is so much info on the internet I am getting confused.

Can anyone recommend somewhere nice self catering that is quite quiet and good for 2 adults and a 3 year old from a thurs to a monday and easy to get to from malaga airport?

was looking at polaris world, but trip adviser said that the la torre resort smells of sewage..

What I normally do when looking at unfamiliar area is to find the most impartial seeming website and read through the descriptions of the ares, nerja is nice and if you go inland most places are lovely, more rural & quiet but if not if you want beach.

Usually the tourist board websites are quite informative costa del sol one here
