Tunisia, just booked, anyone been?

We've been to lots of holiday places but not to Tunisia before. Booked an all inclusive hotel 2K away from Hammamet and will do a couple of trips, any advice and must do's from people who have been?

Went to Monastir in October and loved it. Camel rides are fun. Quad biking is really good and they aren't too worried about age limits-they let my four year old ride with his dad! In Monastir they have pirate boats that make half day trips which were good fun.

El Jem Amphitheatre - amazing. Fairly regular trains from Tunis, good regular buses into Tunis.

Thanks, We love our boat trips and like to visit historical places. I've just been reading trip advisor about the hotel we've booked, paying a bit more than normal and looks like it will be worth the extra money.

We (DH and I) went about 15 years ago and loved it. We were about 10km away from something al Khantoui (?sp). We visited al Gem and many other classical remains (DH's first dregree is in classics).
Brilliant tiem with lovely people.

We went near to Hammamet a few years ago and I loved it there, the beach is beautiful and it took about 15 minutes to stroll along the beach into Hammamet itself. There were a few restaurants and shops near to the hotel too. Hammamet is nice too.

We did a couple of trips, we went on a desert safari, which was wonderful.

Thanks, DD wants to go on a desert safari but think it's 2 nights and might take up too much time. Will need to price it up too.

Yes, the one we went on was 2 nights but it was well worth the trip.
