Edinburgh weekend with 8 teenagers

Any advice for what I can do with 8 15 & 16 year olds in Edinburgh for a weekend in late January? DD1 will be 16 and talked me into taking her and 7 friends up to Edinburgh for her birthday party. Seemed a good idea until we realised that the winter wonderland in Princes Street Gardens would be closed. So no ice skating available ... and we're stuck. We arrive Saturday lunchtime, they're going to go off shopping then I will meet them later to do something ... but what? Dungeons? Ghost Walk? All recommendations gratefully received.

PS Have posted this in Teenagers too Xmas Smile.

Erm....afternoon tea?

Hadn't thought of that - will add to list of possibilities. Cheers.

ghost walks are fun. haven't done the dungeons. the fancy hotels on George street have some pretty impressive bars and restaurants which a teen girl would be very impressed by, very trendy.

alcohol free cocktails at Harvey Nicks bar; shopping seems to be a hit with teenagers and George Street and Princes St ticks those boxes; go on one of those bus tours - open top even in January - as they cover the tourist sights with a fun bit of banter; find a nail bar?
good luck!

Harvey Nicks cocktails sounds like fun & we haven't done the open top bus tour in years. Will canvass which the girls prefer - I fancy the ghost walk myself. Thanks - at least I have some suggestions now, makes me much calmer!
