Where would you go on holiday if....

you usually go longhaul but would prefer to stay a little closer to home?

We don't do package holidays and we'd want to be well away from full english breakfasts/lager all day type places.

We've done the South of France, Dubai but never Greece so wondering if that would be a good option. Not keen on Turkey!

Has to be good for a 3 year old and not necessarily lying by the pool all day every day.

A spa would be nice with good food and wine would be great!

Just no foul mouthed football top wearing people!

Scandanavia if not looking for somewhere hot, very child friendly and good spas :) if hot then what about the Balkans?

The Black Forest is supposed to be stunning, and very hot in the summer. Also Slovenia - you can visit Ljubljana if you stay at Lake Bled as they are quite close. Or Tuscany - beautiful. But you can't beat France. I love the Dordgone best.

Also you can get to Eastern Canada or New England without too much trauma or too long in the air, (although technically it's long haul) and that's fabulous. Do a motor-home tour!

I stayed here last summer. No football tops, but lots of Vilebrequin.

Spa lovely, great children's facilities. Good food.

Find a villa in the middle of nowhere in the Eastern Algarve (not Western Algarve).

Wonderful food and cheap booze in local supermarket, no nasty "kidz clubz", explore wonderful local restaurants where the locals eat. Best people in the world & don't speak English so you have to get native!
