Summer hols ideas please - beach in Europe

Hello, We're looking for ideas for a holiday next year in June/July for me, DH and DDs - 4 and 1. Not particularly fussed where, but thinking self catering in France/Spain/Italy (house or flat or chalet on a site). Main requirements are to be very close to a sandy beach and a large village or small town (ie a short walk) and that it's going to be reasonably warm. A pool would be a big bonus.

Have been to La Rochelle area before which is the right sort of idea but any other ideas?

for children of that age we would go to a campsite in brittany, stay in a mobile and chance the rain. weather is usually better than here and beaches/countryside and towns are beautiful

I'd recommend Majorca. It's a short flight, about 1.5-2hrs. Most towns are good for young families. Plenty of varieties of hotel/self catering options and the weather is usually pretty good and stable. Warms up April to late sept. Feb and Oct are often ok for jeans/tshirt but not less clothes.... Towns I'd highlight are Santa ponsa, which is about 30mins from airport in the south or in the north of the island then alcudia and puerto pollensa.
