Travelling with Chicken Pox??

We're travelling longhaul in 3 weeks time and just found out today that DS (9 month old) little friend who he saw on Monday has Chicken Pox today. Chicken Pox has a 14-21 day incubation period, which means that my LO would have it when we travel. Sooooooooooo, my question is, how do airlines feel about a child travelling with chicken pox at the height of it? Anyone know? Experienced similar?

Thank you. Apology accepted.

And I hope, above all, that your DS doesn't contract chicken pox!

Well, thanks to someone travelling longhaul with chickenpox, my DH caught it aged 28. Who knows how many other people caught it on the same plane, including possibly immunocompromised people, babies etc.

I wouldn't do it.

Friends of mine got stranded at a Spanish airport thanks to chicken pox - they had to stay another week ££££££

How on earth do you tell when the last spot appears? There are sooooooo many!

My friend's son almost died of chicken pox, he spent 6 weeks in hospital, and it put his development back to that of a 6 mo (he was 4.5 at the time Sad). It is a horrible illness when it has complications.

Posters like you Zebra, rude, ignorant, silly, make me want to push for the option to Ignore posters for good. Never in my years on ANY forum, have I come across a more rude and unpleasant poster.
